Flipside Circus raised $115,240 in its inaugural Giving Day, vital funds that will build the Brisbane Circus Centre, a purpose-built training centre and performance space for the upcoming and current world leading artists of QLD, opening in 2022.

Flipside Circus was a hub of excitement on Thursday 4 November as all donations over a 12 hour period were matched by generous donors and supporters. Volunteers manned the phones; trainers were slimed for donations and the support of a community was felt as donations and messages of encouragement poured in through the day.

“The Brisbane Circus Centre will become a landmark for the arts and really cement Queensland’s position as a world leader in circus skills development,” said Robert Kronk, CEO of Flipside Circus.

The Brisbane Circus Centre will open in 2022, as Flipside Circus’s new home at Northshore

221 MacArthur Avenue, Hamilton. The Centre will boast a unique structure that combines performance, training and community space in one location, meeting the needs of the growing circus artists in QLD. Made from modular, prefabricated materials, shipping containers and canvas the building will become an iconic fixture of Brisbane’s circus scene.

Flipside Circus’s Giving Day was proudly supported by Creative Partnerships Australia through Plus 1, Hamish Clift and Flipside supporters.
