Brisbane Circus Centre

A purpose-built circus training and presentation space in the heart of Northshore Brisbane’s performance and entertainment hub. Combining form and function the Brisbane Circus Centre is an iconic building that is uniquely circus. The construction of the $2.4 million centre was supported by the Australian and Queensland Governments and by donations from the Flipside community.

Created from shipping containers, the Centre draws on circus traditions to create an industrial tent structure that is modular and adjustable. The building itself is a piece of circus apparatus that artists can scale, climb, and swing from. The centre provides specialist circus training facilities unlike any other in Australia. It is the home of Flipside Circus and several smaller circus companies and artists.

There are multiple spaces available for hire; the Training Room, Studio or the entire Brisbane Circus Centre.

Flipside is a key driver of the Australian circus sector providing employment opportunities, space, production/touring support, fostering experimentation, and training young artists who go on to sustainable careers.
