It is just over 12 months since the fire at the Brisbane Circus Centre. This time last year we were finishing our emergency fire appeal and were running programs out of the Brisbane Powerhouse.

In the weeks after the fire our community raised over $30,000 to help Flipside stay alive and keep delivering programs. The support from our community didn’t just help us buy new gear, it gave us the energy to carry on. Over 190 individual donors put their hands in their pockets; old friends, arts workers, students and families, sister circuses and arts organisations, our families, and neighbours at Northshore.

Now that we are back home and rebuilding our programs I want to take a moment to thank our amazing community, artists, trainers, supporters, board, and staff for getting us from there to here.

Speaking of rebuilding programs… We have put the finishing touches on our Easter Holiday programs – including a swinging trapeze workshop with Trix Circus (see the full program here). We’re also about to hit the road for our first Queensland tour of 2025. And our Step Ups and aerial students are busy developing performances for May.
