Our Christmas Raffle is on with amazing prizes donated by our friends at Trix Circus including two aerial silks, stirrup straps and an aerial hoop. Not only do you get a chance to win some fantastic prizes but all funds raised are going toward replacing equipment lost in the fire, including a trampoline!
Over the next few weeks we’re making up for lost time at the Brisbane Circus Centre…
- We have a huge school holiday program including a banquine masterclass with Cirque du Soleil’s Artem Shinkarenko and teeterboard with our own Luke Whitefield – see here for more;
- Our Performance Troupe are working on two new pop-up performance projects with Chimera Arts and Trix Circus, and with Counterpilot. Both projects are assissted by Creative Australia;
- Our Waterways project has an intensive camp coming up; and
- Our last Circus Weekends performance is on 30 November with students from across our circus school showing off their skills.
In other news this month, our Step Ups helped launch the Christmas Windows at Uptown on the Queen Street Mall, and all the major repair works to the Brisbane Circus Centre are officially complete.
2024 highlights (so far!)
- 20,442 total participants in Flipside programs
- 5,615 people saw Flipside perform
- 46 Social Circus Programs with 725 participants
- Flipside spent 113 days on the road, visiting 40 regional and remote Qld communities delivering 106 workshops, residencies, or performances
- We worked out of 6 temporary venues and put up our free standing aerial rigs more than 80 times
